About Me

The story behind the code, the workshops, and the mountain photos.

The Short Version

I'm Rahul Agrawal — an open source contributor, workshop conductor, and relentless tinkerer based in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. I work at BWH by day, contribute to the Frappe framework by passion, and chase mountain trails whenever I get the chance.

The Longer Version

It started the way most good things do — with curiosity and a terrible internet connection. Growing up in Jagdalpur, a small city in the heart of Chhattisgarh, I didn't have the tech scene that metro kids took for granted. But what I did have was stubbornness and a laptop that somehow kept running.

I found open source through the Frappe framework, and it changed everything. Contributing code to a project that thousands of people use gave me a sense of purpose that no college assignment ever could. I started small — fixing bugs, reading docs, hanging around in community channels — and eventually had PRs merged into the upstream codebase.

That led to BWH, where I now work building solutions on the Frappe ecosystem. But contributing code wasn't enough — I wanted to help others get started too. So when FOSS United reached out for workshop conductors, I jumped in. Five workshops later (including in-person sessions at IIT Bhilai and IIT Madras), I've helped dozens of people write their first pull request.

I also got the chance to speak at the FrappeVerse conference, which was surreal, and later at Frappe Build 2026 on debugging Frappe apps like a pro. And I regularly take calls from people in the Frappe community who need help — because someone did the same for me once.

Recently, I've started a YouTube channel to share what I'm learning in a more visual format. It's new, it's rough around the edges, and I'm figuring it out as I go. Sounds familiar, actually — that's basically how all of this started.
